Public Liability insurance/Accident insurance/Event Withdrawal insurance
According to the law, a liability waiver (see General Terms and Conditions of Participation), which every participant signs before the event, applies only to damage to property. It is no longer possible to arrange a standard exemption from liability for injury to persons for all other persons attending training courses. There is also the theoretical possibility that a participant might sue another party for compensation because that party was allegedly responsible for a race-track accident. Quite apart from whether culpability for a racetrack accident can actually be established, we have a legal duty to protect our participants. Consequently we decided, after due consideration, to make public-liability insurance compulsory for all participants. We believe the extra costs of this insurance for riders will be justified many times over through the security gained. The liability insurance offered by Gothaer is designed specially for racing and rider-training conditions.
Liability insurance for a rider at EUR 10/event is included in the event price for all events.
Accident insurance for racetrack riders
Don‘t most insurance schemes include participation in their general terms and conditions (GUB 99)? Events aimed at attaining high speeds? Excluded, therefore are rider-training courses. A serious deficiency, since such insurance is very important to many of our riders, particularly those who ride for fun as well. Most of us have to be available the next day or the day after for work and the family.
With the accident insurance, we can't eliminate the risk of injury, but we can certainly mitigate the effects of an accident. We advise everyone to take it! Participants at our events who benefit from insurance - will all sleep more soundly at night! A summary of the options follows. With a statement on the application form that you want to take out the insurance, you will be covered against the consequences of an accident on the track.
An accident insurance covers personal claims which the policyholder incurs as a result of an accident. The general accident terms and conditions, which are identical with (almost) all insurance companies, exclude any payout if a policyholder is injured at a motor-sport event! By contrast, our insurers will pay out even if the policyholder pursues motor sport as a hobby. The amount of the payout is in line with the basic sum assured (EUR 160,000) and the schedule of limbs.
Daily accident insurance costs EUR 15/event.
The following information is required for this:
- Invalidity insurance
If the policyholder suffers permanent injury as a result of an accident, a payout will be made one year after the accident, the amount of which will depend on the type and extent of disability. Basic sum insured EUR 50,000 (max. EUR 100,000 for 200% progression)
If the policyholder dies through an accident, the following payout will be made: EUR10,000.
